Transforming News Photographs
We'll need a collection of news photographs as a starting point. Often, there are interesting compositional elements to such photographs. Using one photograph or a combination of several, we'll build up our own compositions. The aim is to transform the photographs through drawing rather than copy them. We’ll need to go for photographs that we find interesting and think about ways of interpreting these. We may work on a smaller or larger scale.
Materials:
Drawing paper, a collection of news photographs (black and white and colour) from current papers and journals, media of your choice
