At Narbeth`s Oriel Q Gallery, from March 17th to April 15th comes Keramica, the pottery show no-one is likely to forget! It bursts open all conventional ideas about what clay can do. Humour and excitement run through this exhibition with Anna Warchus` teetering tower of ceramic shapes, to the magical umbrella-like “Cape” by Dinah Guilfoyle. Unusual media abound, with Ruth Petersen`s use of a core of steel within a ceramic shell. John Addyman`s wall-mounted pieces echo the rocky surfaces and twisted lanes of our Pembrokeshire countryside.
Everything in the Gallery stretches our experience of pottery far beyond the domesticity of mugs and jugs. Visit this show to discover what fired clay can do in the hands of these skilled artists.
In the Gallery window, as Artist of the month, Ray Burnell is showing his atmospheric landscapes, often choosing that fleeting moment when a breath-taking gleam of sun shines through the mist, or a crack of light breaks through the clouds onto rocks and water, turning the Pembrokeshire landscape into something magical.
